Malinda M., daughter of Edward and Rebecca Grimes was born August 27, 1833, died September 8, 1908, aged 75 years and 11 days.  She was married to Samuel Galey September 25, 1857.  To this union were born four children - three boys and one girl, two of the boys, Joseph and Leslie having preceded their mother to their eternal home.

Sister Galey is the last of a family of eighteen children, except the half-brothers and half-sisters.  She united with the Methodist church when she was ten years old under the pastorate of the Rev. Thomas Bartlet, and has proven herself a worthy and lively member for sixty-five years always ready for her Christ and His church.  In her home life she proved her Christian faith for she was a devoted wife for almost fifty-seven years and always a loving, tender, unselfish mother.

During the last three years of her life she has been practically an invalid, but she bore her suffering with an abiding faith in Jesus Christ.  Her living testimony which she left behind her is centralized in the text which, by her own request was used for her funeral. "For us light affliction which is but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."
